Know Before you Perform

Before the world gives you labels, God gives you identity. You are not first defined by your grades, appearance, mistakes, reputation, popularity, talents, struggles, or what other people think of you. Before all of that, you are known by God, made in His image, loved by Him, and invited to belong to Him through Christ.

Known Before You Perform

You Were Made on Purpose

You are not random. You are not an accident. Scripture begins with a truth that changes how we see ourselves: human beings were made in the image of God.That means your life has value before you achieve anything. You do not have to become impressive to matter. You already matter because God made you.The world often tells people to “find themselves,” but Scripture starts somewhere deeper: God created you. Your identity begins with the One who made you. What labels do people your age often use to define themselves?Which label do you feel pressure to live up to?How does it change things to know God made you intentionally?

You Are Known by God

It is possible to be surrounded by people and still feel unseen. You can post, talk, perform, succeed, laugh, and still wonder if anyone really knows you.God does.Psalm 139 says God knows when we sit down and when we rise up. He knows our thoughts. He knows our words before we speak them. This can feel intimidating, but it is also deeply comforting. God does not know only the version of you that others see. He knows the whole story. And He still calls you.Being known by God means you do not have to pretend with Him. You can bring your confusion, questions, fear, guilt, joy, and hope honestly before Him.Do you find it comforting or uncomfortable that God knows everything about you? Why?What part of yourself do you usually try to hide from others? What would honest prayer look like for you this week?
